Advocacy

One of the core responsibilities of the Association of Surgical Assistants (ASA) is legislative advocacy on behalf of the surgical assisting profession. Together with the National Surgical Assistant Association (NSAA), ASA has successfully achieved legislative recognition in eight states and continues to advance new state initiatives. In most cases, key surgical assistant members collaborate under the guidance of a state lobbyist to support these efforts.
